Question: Coolant question

2009 Ford flex.
I keep running out of coolant. The car overheats when it runs out which is almost daily which makes perfect sense but my heater works fine but I can tell it's about to overheat because my heater in my car goes cold while driving any speed but only when I'm low on coolant. But sometimes even when the coolant level is alright when I go slow or stop at a light the heater goes cold but will then go warm again once I begin to accelerate my speed again. Any idea why it goes cold at a light or when I slow down even if the coolant level is fine? And would it for sure be a leaky hose or could something else be the issue. I'm not seeing bubbles on my radiator or Milky oil.

The twin-turb ...
